Install Windows Network Adapter

  

Note: This article applies to the situation that failed to install the adapter through .EXE program and the adapter has .inf file to download.

Jan 31, 2017  Hey guys, having a problem here with my network adapter, it's informing me that i need to re-install my drivers for the network adapter and im struggling on finding the download, iv been through device manager and there's nothing under network adapters, currently using windows 10 and this happened after i tried to reset. No Network Adapter Detected. Used windows update to install build 10074 from windows 7. Everything seems to have worked fine except my network adapter (onboard Realtek thing) isn't being detected. Figured this might be a driver thing so I installed various versions of the realtek drivers both win 7 and win 8 ones and these seem to install fine but then cannot detect the card. Available Downloads. Install, or use this software and any associated materials (collectively, the “Software”) provided under this license agreement. Insert the adapter onto your computer. Right click Computer, and then click Manage. Open Device Manager. Right click the adapter and then click Update Driver Software. Click Browse my computer for driver software. Click Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

Insert the adapter onto your computer.

Windows Install Network Adapter Driver

Right click Computer, and then click Manage.

Step 3

Open Device Manager. Right click the adapter and then click Update Driver Software....

Step 4

Click Browse my computer for driver software.

Step 5

Click Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

Step 6

Highlight Show All Devices and click Next.

Install Windows Network Adapter

Step 7

Click Have Disk.

Step 8

Click Browse.

Step 9

Point to the inf file in the driver folder, and then click Open.

Note: Please click start button, right click Computer and go to properties to confirm operating system and system type of your computer.

Step 10

Click Next.

Step 11

Click Install this driver software anyway.

Step 12

Click Close.

Which file should you download?

Note:10-GbE adapters (those that are support Windows 10) are only supported by 64-bit drivers.

  • PROWinx64.exefor 64-bit (x64) editions of Windows

How to use this download

Download the self-extracting archive and run it. It will extract the files to a temporary directory, run the installation wizard, and remove the temporary files when the installation is complete. All language files are embedded in this archive. You don't need to download an extra language pack.
