In Windows x64, there are two System folders. One is C: Windows System32 and other C: Windows SysWOW64. Latter for 32bit programs and drivers. Boot from the install media and make sure you are installing the 64-bit version. Let Windows install over the previous installation or do a quick format to make sure it is gone. When it asks for a product key/activation key, skip that. You might have to skip that process a couple of times.
